What We Do ?

Auckland Movers Association (AMA) is a self regulatory organization (SRO) that governs the Quality Assurance Standards set by its industry members through to the implementation and certification of a standardized Quality Management System.

In the absence of NZ/AS standardization, parliamentary legislation or government regulatory framework within the industry, the Auckland Movers Association is in the process of creating a moving Industry standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS) using:

BS EN 14873-1:2005

We endeavor to create a professional brand environment within the moving industry where customers can be assured, through our mark of membership, that they will be dealing with reputable operators providing a quality service

Wider Body

With wider body acceptance the scope for quality standardization in a number concerning areas will increase.

Full Membership is open to any company/trader or individual who is involved in the moving industry under the following provisions;

  • The applicant business is a furniture removalist business and services the customer at their home or place of business
  • The nominated AMA signatory has the applicable NZTA Transport safety license for the activities carried out
  • And or the business is involved in the storage of personal possessions for hire or reward
  • The applicant is able to successfully demonstrate through the audit process that their organization meets the requirements for membership
  • Full payment of any membership fees or subscription fees, should they be applicable (it is preferred that members purchase their own copies of the relevant standards and produce their own procedural materials but the association can avail of bulk purchase discounts should it wish to do so).

Affiliate Membership is open to;

  • Businesses that service the moving industry i.e packaging suppliers, blanket suppliers, trolley and truck manufacturers etc
  • Satellite business such as cleaners & packers etc
  • Legal

    Auckland Movers Association is a not for profit self governing regulatory organization and at no time will it enter into any moving industry related commercial agreements with it's members, members competition, suppliers or anyone in the moving industry both domestic and international, excluding and strictly for, the purposes of association membership requirements.

    Auckland Movers Association will at all times act in an impartial and non bias manner towards applicants and members, membership is open to all persons who satisfy the membership requirements.

    Members are expressively prohibited from discussing pricing or market allocation at association events, meetings or gatherings. Any members found to be colluding toward price fixing or cartel like behavior will be expelled from the association and will no longer be able to furnish the association branding or certification.
